Topical aloe vera gel has been studied in a randomized, controlled trial for wound epithelialization of split-thickness skin graft donor sites.1
Pracasil is a silicone-based compounding vehicle. In a meta-analysis of six randomized controlled trials, topical silicone gel improved the pigmentation, height, and pliability of postoperative scars compared with placebo or no treatment.2 Those trials evaluated silicone gel products, not this aloe and Pracasil gel, and do not establish that it improves scars more than either component alone.
